Daiguren 'Complete'

Ban…kai!


Allow me to present my first ever bankai zanpakuto, Daiguren Hyorinmaru (wielded by Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya. This sword is a commission for my good friend yukicrystal ([link]), in exchange for Kairi’s Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts 2. Hope you like him, Yoruichi-san! And…thank you again! ^_^




Stats:
Blade Length: 30 in.
Handle Length: 10 in..
Total Length: 40 in.


Blade: 1 wooden rod, with a balsa wood head, sandwiched between 2 pieces of foam poster board (foam board was applied with heavy duty spray glue). The blade was then covered with gray and chrome duck tape (“slant illusion technique” was applied to give it a two-toned look).


Tsuba: Is made from 2 separate bases, both are made of white extra thick (2mm) fun foam *the bases* and self-adhesive (2mm) fun foam *the lip/ridge* (held together with crazy glue). In the end entire tsuba was painted gold, along with a simple clear coat.

Cap and Setting: Crafted from white self adhesive (2mm) fun foam, then painted gold for finishing, along with clear coat.

Music Preference *new feature*: Due to the holiday season this zanpakuto responded well to Christmas song. Daiguren also enjoyed White Reflection (Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz), Snow Planet (Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz), White Destiny (Pretear), and…Bleach the Best.



*Note: Daiguren Hyorinmaru (Grand Crimson Lotus Ice Ring), wielded by Toshiro Hitsugaya (Captain of 10th Division); causes ice to flow from Hyōrinmaru onto Hitsugaya-taichou, encasing his form in ice. Has several known techniques: Ryusenka (Dragon Hail Flower), Sennen Hyoro (Thousand Years' Ice Prison), Shield of Ice Wings, Bankai Regeneration, Ice Clone, Guncho Tsurara (Icicle Flock), and Hyoten Hyakkas (Frozen Heaven Hundred Flower Funeral). “Bankai.”
